In this immersive hands-on workshop in Kunming, you’ll learn how traditional Chinese line incense (线香) has been made for centuries using purely natural ingredients and ancient methods. Guided by a professional incense artisan, you’ll work with precious materials such as Laoshan sandalwood (老山檀) and a selection of traditional Chinese aromatic herbs.

Unlike modern incense, ancient Chinese incense is never synthetic. Each blend is carefully crafted for its natural properties — some traditionally believed to help calm the mind, relieve stress, promote relaxation, or support balance and well-being according to ancient Chinese wisdom.

In a peaceful, traditional setting filled with subtle aromas, you’ll grind, blend, and shape your own incense by hand, creating a personalized incense blend infused with intention and care. At the end of the experience, you’ll take home the incense you made — a meaningful souvenir carrying both fragrance and tradition.

This is not just a craft workshop, but a quiet journey into Chinese culture, mindfulness, and the ancient relationship between scent and the human spirit.
